Abstract

The aging of the world population is a phenomenon that is setting the trend of our century. This is due to different social and cultural factors and changes in lifestyles. In Ecuador, according to INEC data, adults over 65 years of age represent 7% of the current population, and this population group is expected to triple by 2050, being the group with the greatest population increase above children and adolescents. Older adults are a sector of the population that develops changes at physical, social and psychological levels. The biggest social change they face is disengaging from the world of work, which generates in older adults a process of social marginalization and exclusion from certain spaces in the social and public sphere. However, permanent interaction and cohesion with other generations and population groups returns them to social activity. A community grows and is nourished through multigenerational interaction with different sectors of the population. The relationship between a child and an older adult shows the most natural side of life itself. On the one hand, what you once were and on the other, what you are going to become. For this reason, it is necessary to provide a spatial response for these vulnerable groups, where they can spend their free time in recreation, leisure and interaction activities in buildings that have the correct and equipped infrastructure for their needsEl envejecimiento de la población mundial, es un fenómeno que está marcando la tendencia de nuestro siglo. En Ecuador según datos del INEC, los adultos mayores de 65 años representan el 7% de la población actual, y se prevé que este grupo poblacional se triplique para el 2050, siendo el grupo con mayor incremento poblacional por encima de niños y adolescentes. Los adultos mayores son un sector de la población que desarrolla cambios a niveles físicos, sociales y psicológicos. El mayor cambio social que enfrentan es el de desvincularse del mundo laboral lo que genera en los adultos mayores un proceso de marginación social y de exclusión de ciertos espacios en la esfera social y pública. Sin embargo, la interacción permanente y la cohesión con otras generaciones y grupos poblacionales los devuelve a la actividad social. Una comunidad crece y se nutre a través de la interacción multigeneracional con diferentes sectores de la población. La relación de un niño con un adulto mayor muestra el lado más natural de la vida misma. Por un lado, lo que una vez fuiste y por otro, lo que vas a llegar a ser. Por esta razón es necesario dar una respuesta espacial para estos grupos vulnerables, donde puedan ocupar el tiempo libre en actividades de recreación, esparcimiento e interacción en edificaciones que cuenten con la infraestructura correcta y acondicionada, para sus necesidadesUise
