Trump administration energy and climate change policies and regulations ::2025 tracker /

Abstract

A tracker identifying key Trump administration actions and initiatives taken in 2025 on climate, energy, and environmental issues. This tracker sets out executive orders, presidential statements and proclamations, federal agency actions, and related congressional actions and judicial decisions. It includes key developments that may affect energy project development (whether coal, oil, gas, or clean energy sources) including funding freezes, tariffs and sanctions on key inputs, and proposals to withdraw, repeal, or revise regulations regarding environmental issues and greenhouse gas emissions from oil and gas operations and fossil fuel power plants and to reduce the administrative state. This tracker also discusses how courts may interpret new Trump administration energy and environmental regulations in the aftermath of Loper Bright Enters. v. Raimondo, 144 S. Ct. 2244 (2024)
