9 p.This study examined whether humanized materials could increase learner interest in EFL classes compared to standard textbook activities. Sixteen non-English major students at Nguyen Tat Thanh University participated in an Alternating Treatment Design experiment, using five adapted “humanized” activities and their textbook equivalents from Personal Best B1+. Data from a six-point Likert scale survey showed that humanized activities consistently outperformed textbook activities in three areas: affect, value, and knowledge. Findings suggest that humanizing materials can boost interest in both engaging and less engaging content
