Closed traverse

Abstract

This final thesis is based on the fundamental methods of determining the coordinates of geodetic points. The theoretical part of the thesis presents various methods of coordinate determination, such as the orthogonal, polar, photogrammetric, and GNSS methods. It also defines the basic concepts and principles of traverse surveying, including different types of traverses. The topic of measurement errors in traverse surveys is addressed, as well as the advantages of using traverses. The practical part of the thesis involves the measurement of a closed traverse conducted on the premises of the University North in Varaždin. The measurement was carried out using a Trimble R12i GNSS receiver and a Topcon OS-200 total station. After data collection, the measurement data was processed. All necessary checks were performed during the adjustment process, and all adjustment conditions were met. The obtained coordinates were imported into AutoCAD, and a survey sketch was created. The thesis provides insight into the importance of each method used to determine the coordinates of geodetic points, with an emphasis on traverse surveying
