Regional differences in the effectiveness of drawing public support for research, development and innovation from a selected provider in the Czech Republic

Abstract

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na identifikaci rozdílů v regionech České republiky z hlediska efektivity čerpání veřejné podpory výzkumu, vývoje a inovací na vzorku dat poskytnuté veřejné podpory Technologickou agenturou České republiky. Teoretická část práce vymezuje vzájemné návaznosti znalostní ekonomiky, výzkumu, vývoje a inovací, aktérů v inovačních ekosystémech a význam veřejné podpory. Praktická část práce se zaměřuje na analýzu efektivity čerpání veřejné podpory v krajích České republiky na vzorku dat od vybraného poskytovatele a na jejich následnou komparaci. Analýza je provedena na základě sestavení kompozitní indexu regionální efektivity využití veřejné podpory výzkumu a vývoje, který umožňuje identifikaci regionů s nejvyšší a nejnižší efektivitou v této oblasti. Získané výsledky přispívají k pochopení hlavních faktorů ovlivňujících úspěšnost čerpání veřejné podpory a poskytují doporučení pro zlepšení inovační politiky na regionální i národní úrovni.The thesis focuses on identifying differences in the regions of the Czech Republic in terms of the efficiency of drawing public support for research, development and innovation on a sample of data provided by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the work defines the interdependence of the knowledge economy, R&D and innovation, actors in innovation ecosystems and the importance of public support. The practical part of the work focuses on an analysis of the efficiency of drawing public support in regions of the Czech Republic on a sample of data from a selected provider and on their subsequent comparison. The analysis is based on the compilation of a regional efficiency composite index of the use of public support for research and development, which enables the identification of regions with the highest and lowest efficiency in this area. The results obtained contribute to the understanding of the main factors influencing the success of public support and provide recommendations for improving innovation policy at regional and national level
