GÉNERO Y ADVERSIDAD AMBIENTAL: DESIGUALDADES AGUDIZADAS

Abstract

International organizations assure that we are going through a socio-economic and environmental crisis at a global level. On the one hand, there are increasingly frequent episodes of droughts, floods, and high temperatures, and on the other, social and territorial inequalities have deepened. In this context, the United Nations Organization maintains that, during environmental catastrophes, the people most affected are women and girls. The objective of this research is to analyze, incorporating a feminist perspective, the impacts generated by recent flooding events. The study area will take place in F Municipality, because it is one of the  most affected places by floods and, in turn, is characterized by having different antagonistic urban contexts where these episodes frequently occur. In summary, the research reveals how the gaps in gender inequality are deepened in situations of climate catastrophe.  Organismos internacionales aseguran que estamos transitando una crisis socio-económica y ambiental a nivel global. Por un lado, ocurren episodios cada vez más frecuentes de sequías, inundaciones, altas temperaturas, y por otro, las desigualdades socio territoriales se han profundizado. En este contexto, la Organización de las Naciones Unidas sostiene que, durante las catástrofes ambientales, las personas más perjudicadas son mujeres y niñas. El objetivo de esta investigación es analizar, incorporando una mirada feminista, los impactos generados a causa de los eventos de inundación recientes. El ámbito de estudio tendrá lugar en el Municipio F, debido a que es uno de los municipios más afectados por las inundaciones y, a su vez, se caracteriza por contar con diferentes contextos urbanos antagónicos en donde ocurren estos episodios frecuentemente. En resumen, la investigación busca poner de manifiesto cómo las brechas de la desigualdad de género se ven profundizadas frente a situaciones de catástrofe climática.Peer Reviewe
