Abstract

There is much to suggest that John Paul II’s papal teaching on the family draws on the early philosophical and theological explorations of Karol Wojtyla. However, the problem of the above-mentioned ‘metaphysics of the family’, thus the metaphysical basis of John Paul II’s teaching on the family, receives little attention in the literature. Therefore, this article undertakes an analysis of the philosophical legacy of Karol Wojtyla in the context of the issue of the family. The aim of this study is to explain why the metaphysics of the person emerging from Person and act and other works provides an answer to the numerous problems affecting the family today. This study employs the method of source literature analysis. The conclusion drawn from the analysis is that the family constitutes the place where the true realisation of the person occurs.Wiele wskazuje na to, że papieskie nauczanie Jana Pawła II o rodzinie znajduje swoje źródło we wczesnych filozoficznych i teologicznych poszukiwaniach Karola Wojtyły. Problem tytułowej „metafizyki rodziny”, czyli metafizycznych podstaw nauczania Jana Pawła II o rodzinie jest jednak rzadko poruszany w literaturze. Dlatego w tym artykule podjęto analizę filozoficznego dorobku Karola Wojtyły w kontekście zagadnienia rodziny. Celem poniższego studium jest wyjaśnienie, dlaczego wyłaniająca się z Osoby i czynu oraz innych prac metafizyka osoby stanowi odpowiedź na liczne problemy, przed którymi staje dziś rodzina. W studium zastosowano metodę analizy literatury źródłowej. Z przeprowadzonych analiz wynika wniosek, że rodzina stanowi miejsce prawdziwego urzeczywistniania się osoby
