[A single leaf from a calendar : the month of October] : Preservation Lab Treatment Report

Abstract

This is a new acquisition for the DAAP Library. It is a vellum folio from a French Book of Hours, possibly from 1480. This illuminated folio is a calendar leaf for the month of October, with two miniatures on the recto showing a typical activity for that month, and the zodiac sign for the month of October, scorpion. Around the text, there are borders decorated with acanthus motives. On the verso of the folio, at the bottom edge, there is numbers handwritten in graphite.View Catalog Record: http://uclid.uc.edu/record=b815629
