Elements of Physics : Preservation Lab Treatment Report

Abstract

This is a full leather binding. The book was in poor condition, with the leather suffering from red rot. The leather spine is broken with the half bottom part completely detached from the text block and the spine linings exposed. In addition, the leather on the spine is very brittle and has darkened to black over time. The binding show signs of wear with losses of leather along the board edges. Both covers are still attached to the text block, however the outer joints are broken, and the covers are only secured by the sewing cords. The text block is in fair condition with black ink stains throughout. Rehousing Treatment may be done if needed.
