Nauicula siue speculũ fatuorum, Ship of Fools no. 49 : Preservation Lab Treatment Report

Abstract

This is a new acquisition for the John Miller Burnam Classics Library. This is a single folio from the Ship of  Fools book no.49 from Sebastian Brant. This is a print by Albrecht Durer. The folio has a printed woodcut on the verso illustrating a Demon approaching a vain Woman admiring  herself in the mirror, as described in the dealer’s catalogue. The primary support is a light beige laid paper and the text is printed in black ink. The edges of the folio are gilt, expect for the left edge.View Catalog Record: http://uclid.uc.edu/record=b842143
