Abstract

This item is a new acquisition of the DAAP teaching collection. The items in this collection are meant to be handled and used for teaching and exhibition. This is an engraving printed in black ink on a light thin beige laid paper. According to JSTOR: “Bartsch, No. 31. Signed with the monogram "IB" lower right in the plate. Single state proof on laid paper, enriched on the back with the handwritten collection mark of Professor Jules Meunier (Lyon 1825†1860), Lugt 1810.” The print is mounted with pressure sensitive tape along the right edge on a support paper. There is also glassine tape on the verso of the print along the top corners. The support paper, a larger thin light beige laid paper is mounted along the right edge with two types of pressure sensitive tape on a cardstock matting system. A sheet of polyester is tape with pressure sensitive tape to the cardstock matting system to lay over the print, as a protection barrier.View Item in DAAP Library Collection: https://www.jstor.org/stable/community.3502438
