El otro nacionalismo: la Nueva Argentina, 1919-1930

Abstract

In 1927, in the context of triangular relations Argentina-Great Britain-United States, the Argentine big bourgeoisie split into two fractions, in relation to international alignment, the proposed capitalist development model and the consequent policies promoted by each sector. In this article, the fraction that has as its core the Argentine Industrial Union led by Luis Colombo, oriented towards the United States, is studied. This faction will engage in a hegemonic dispute with the other, whose center is the Argentine Rural Society, chaired by Luis A. Duhau, and to do so, it must quickly compose a new and lasting nationalist ideology, with the help of its organic intellectuals. The new ideology, which promises to make Argentina an industrial-military power with hegemony in the Southern Cone, is analyzed in this article, especially in the Colombo nuance. The organic intellectuals of the different sectors that make up the faction are also identified.En 1927, en el contexto de las relaciones triangulares Argentina-Gran Bretaña- Estados Unidos, la gran burguesía argentina se escinde en dos fracciones en relación con el alineamiento internacional, el modelo de desarrollo capitalista propuesto y las consiguientes políticas propiciadas por cada sector. En este artículo se estudia la fracción que tiene como núcleo a la Unión Industrial Argentina dirigida por Luis Colombo, orientada hacia los Estados Unidos. Esta fracción entablará una disputa hegemónica con la otra, cuyo centro es la Sociedad Rural Argentina, presidida por Luis A. Duhau, y para ello, debe componer rápidamente una nueva y perdurable ideología nacionalista, con la ayuda de sus intelectuales orgánicos. La nueva ideología, que promete hacer de Argentina una potencia industrial-militar con hegemonía en el Cono Sur, se analiza en este artículo, especialmente, en el matiz de Colombo.
