Bible, XIIIe siecle, fragment : Preservation Lab Treatment Report

Abstract

This is a full vellum binding with illuminated manuscript handwriting that was recently cataloged at the Public Library. It is in need of housing for long‐term storage. Vellum binding is in poor condition from being stored unrestrained and unhoused. The vellum textblock is exceedingly thin and fine. The front page is damaged. The covers are warping away from the textblock, placing stress on the joints of the binding. The joints are beginning to split.
