The Randolph County courthouse was designed by J.C. Johnson and built by Aaron G. Campfield from 1875-1877. It had a mansard roof and a central tower until 1954 when they were replaced with a flat roof. On the grounds is the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ monument designed by A.A. McKain in 1892
