A snow scene of mountains and a cabin is centered over the Christmas message on the postcard. The back of the card includes a thank you note from a young girl who received a picture and letter from James Whitcomb Riley.The message on the back of the postcard reads: Alliance, O., Dec. 22 Dear Mr Riley. Thank you so much for your picture and letter. I will never get a Christmas gift that I think as much of as I do of them I will keep them all my life.
