Abstract

The three men lounge on the banks of the swimming hole. An uprooted tree can be seen on the opposite bank. In the foreground, a board extends out over the water. A wooden fence runs beside the footpath.On the back of the photograph is written: Will Randle, Will Martin and James Whitcomb Riley on the banks of "The Old Swimmin'–Hole." Evidently about 1891. Will Martin sits in the foreground; Will Randle further back
