Mary Elizabeth Hanger Diary - May 7, 1919

Abstract

Hanger describes her participation in the Welcome Home Parade for World War I soldiers. She helped make the box lunches for the soldiers the night before. On the 7th she spent time in Military Park and at the train station waiting for friends to arrive. She remarked that the city "looked beautiful, just like someone had dressed up in her Sunday-go-to-meeting clothes.
