Quantification of the association between second to fourth digit ratio and competitive rowing performance

Abstract

This study found weak to strong evidence that females with smaller 2D:4Ds performed better “on-water” than those with larger 2D:4Ds. This may be explained by morphological optimisations, which suggests the 2D:4D is possibly linked to factors underlying specific physical characteristics important for rowing success.
