Effects of the combination of gentamicin and carbenicillin on the bactericidal activity of serum

Abstract

The bactericidal activity of serum from five patients treated successively with gentamicin, carbenicillin, and gentamicin plus carbenicillin, was tested against 14 randomly chosen strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The bactericidal effect of sera obtained after the administration of gentamicin and carbenicillin together was significantly higher (P.01) than that of sera obtained after the injection of either gentamicin or carbenicillin alone. © 1972 by the University of Chicago.SCOPUS: ar.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe
