Applications of data analytics: three data-driven reminiscence therapy deployments

Abstract

This presentation addresses how data analytics in all its forms, from machine learning to statistical correlation and visualisation, can offer some help in developing applications which support people with dementia and their carers. We specifically look at technology support for reminiscence therapy and describe three systems we have developed, deployed and are testing. Two of these use data analytics at their core while the third does not. Thus the takeaway message from the presentation is that data analytics is not always a panacea for all problems
