Preparation and Characterization of Dendritic Amino Polymers

Abstract

AbstractThe dendrimer is a kind of special polymer. Although many kinds of dendrimers have been synthesized, there is none which is very effective to act as a demulsifier in treating waste water in heavy oil fields. This research is a systematic study on the dendritic amino polymers (DAP) used as demusifiers. By means of the divergent method, DAP (generation = 0.5∼3.0) were prepared by gradually attaching methyl acrylate and methylene-dianiline to the initiator core. The charactor of DAP was measured by SALS, FTIR, Terminal Group Analysis, and SEM. The results confirmed that the structures of DAP were in well agreement with the designed ones; therefore, it meant that the divergent method was feasible to prepare dendrimers with many benzene rings
