Residents Evaluate Their Training In Family Practice

Family practice residents at McMaster University expressed concern about their training because of the diversity of clinical settings to which they were assigned. We found significant differences between units in patient volume, age and sex characteristics of practices and diagnoses. These differences have significant implications for resident training. While highly motivated residents can evaluate their training, faculty cooperation is required for implementation of change in the program
