Abstract

The practice of translation arouses constant interest: it stands at the core of an intellectual and cultural history of which it is a founding moment, and it has greatly fostered the process of genesis, dissemination and definition of ideas and knowledge that have marked and shaped European consciousness since the humanistic age. "The masque de l'Écriture. Philosophie et traduction de la Renaissance aux Lumières" collects and summarizes the reflections and the data of a critical tradition that has long debated this issue
