Marcian's effort of appropriation of the linguistic and conceptual contents of rhetorica is evident in his manual, about rape and poisoning. Models of transmission of knowledge both of rhetorical and juridical tradition were replicated as an effective tool for conveying the specific contents of these two artes in order to ensure materials essential to communication
