Abstract

Professor Richard Hayes from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine discusses the successes in controlling the HIV epidemic to date and the challenges that remain. His current trial, known as the Population Effects of Antiretroviral Therapy (PopART) trial is trying to tackle HIV when it affects the general population, such as in Southern Africa.
