Interpretability of the conceptions of students from rural and urban areas of rural and urban from geographical learning

Abstract

Nesta pesquisa analisam-se concepções de campo e cidade de vinte e nove alunos do último ano da Educação Básica, moradores de áreas rurais do distrito de Lerroville, município de Londrina, do município de Tamarana e das sedes (áreas urbanas) do referido distrito e município, localizados no norte do estado do Paraná, com o intuito de responder a seguinte questão de pesquisa: Quais as percepções dos alunos sobre campo e cidade e do lugar onde vivem e como elas contribuem para a concepção de ensinar Geografia visando à formação conceitual, de modo a contemplar elementos da relação entre os espaços rurais e urbanos? Objetiva mais especificamente identificar vínculos de pertencimento destes estudantes em relação aos espaços rurais e urbanos, interpretar como as relações entre campo e cidade são por eles apreendidas e apontar fragilidades e potencialidades da aprendizagem geográfica escolar no tocante a formação conceitual referente a estes dois espaços. Para tanto, procura-se compreender a complexidade das relações entre campo e cidade tomando-se o lugar como categoria de análise geográfica, respaldando-se também em alguns preceitos da Educação do Campo. As concepções dos alunos são analisadas com foco na palavra enquanto generalização na qual o pensamento traduz-se em linguagem, sob a perspectiva da formação conceitual vigotskiana, utilizando-se a abordagem qualitativa e procedimentos da Análise de Conteúdo para a organização e interpretação dos dados produzidos pelos alunos segundo três instrumentos de coleta de dados: um teste de associação de palavras, uma produção de texto e uma entrevista semi-estruturada. Pretende-se que este trabalho contribua para a construção de concepções de ensinar Geografia visando à formação conceitual de modo a contemplar elementos da relação entre os espaços rurais e urbanos.In this research we analysed the conceptions of rural and urban of twenty-nine senior students of Basic Education, who live in rural areas of the district Lerroville, Londrina, Tamarana municipalities and the headquarters (urban areas) of this district and municipality, located in the north of the state of Paraná, in order to answer the following research question: What are the students' perceptions about the countryside and the city and the place where they live and how they contribute to the concept of teaching Geography aiming at a conceptual training, in order to include elements of the relationship between rural and urban areas? More specifically it aims at identifying ties of these students belonging in relation to rural and urban areas, interpret how the relations between country and city are seized by them and highlight weaknesses and potential of geographic learning at school regarding the conceptual training in relation to these two spaces. Therefore, we seek to understand the complexity of the relations between town and country taking the place as a category of geographical analysis, also getting support in some principles of the Countryside Education. The student?s conceptions are analysed focusing on the word as a generalization in which the thought is translated into language, from the perspective of the Vygotskian conceptual training, using a qualitative approach and procedures of Content Analysis for the organization and interpretation of the data produced by the students according to three instruments of data collection: a test of word association, a text production and a semi-structured Interview. It is intended that this work will contribute to the construction of conceptions of teaching Geography aiming at a conceptual training in order to include elements of the relationship between rural and urban spaces
