El otro: Cuba in the World of Education

Abstract

The question that I seek to answer in my thesis is the following: as a developing country, how\ud has Cuba been so successful in creating an educated and literate society? I will answer this\ud question by examining the time I spent as a student and observer in Cuba, as well as supporting\ud my experience by literature that has attempted to explain the accomplishments of Cuba after the\ud triumph of the revolution. This paper will revolve around a historical analysis and an\ud autoethnographicallens. Political, economic and cultural factors of Cuba's educational system\ud will be described and analyzed
