Abstract

Fourth annual economics alumni forum, a panel discussion on Rising Income Inequality: Causes and Consequences held at Haverford College, KINSC Sharpless Auditorium on October 20, 2011."Since 1980, the richest 20% of American families have experienced a growth rate in income three times the growth rate of the second richest 20% and 6 times the growth rate of the bottom 20%. Panelists Tim Taylor '82, managing editor of the Journal of Economic Perspectives and author of Principles of Economics: Economics and the Economy, and Jane Dokko β€˜98, economist at the Federal Reserve Board, will serve as panelists discussing the causes and consequences of this alarming trend.
