Ayr-Way Discount Store

Abstract

In the 1960s Ayres also began a discount store called Ayr-Way. Managed by an Ayres cousin, David P. Williams, Jr., these businesses were a fore runner to the major discount stores shopped in today. Williams experimented with including discount groceries in the stores before the company was sold.
