Blogpolitik - den politiske blog i et medieteoretisk og diskursanalytisk perspektiv

By Asger Abel Nørtved Sørensen

Abstract

The thesis examines how the blog as a medium differs from the media usually used by politicians as means of communicating their message and whether the blog B-tinget can be seen as an expression of unfiltered political communication. I have applied media theory which serves the purpose of supplying the theoretical framework on how the media works in society. In order to analyze the political blogs I have applied discourse analysis. In the analysis it has become clear that discourses are articulated in the blog posts. The research has found that the initial interest for the thesis, the unfiltered political communication, may not be as embedded in the blogs as presumed at the initial steps of the thesis. Being instigated by the Marie Krarup-affair, which sparked massive debate due to its explicit criticism of New Zealand, it has shown that the writers are in general mores subtle in their commutative expression. I have concluded that the blog probably can function as a mean for unfiltered communication, but in the case of B-tinget the setup of the blog hinders that, due to the writers being profiled as professional politicians and not private persons
