Infraestructura ferroviaria y ciudad: modalidades urbanísticas de resolución de sus vínculos en la historia urbana de Santa Fe

Abstract

Interpretaciones recientes abonan matices locales en la apropiación de ideas sobre la ciudad. Por ello es posible afirmar que el Urbanismo en Argentina se constituyó por sucesivas mutaciones, delineándose como disciplina autónoma alrededor de 1910. A partir de allí se perfila una tradición unitaria, a pesar de los variados nombres que recibe durante el siglo XX. Tales denominaciones manifiestan modos de legitimación de una disciplina que se nutre de los saberes de diversas ciencias. Sin embargo, las coyunturas históricas establecen quiebres epistemológicos, siendo un indicador de los mismos el abordaje de la inserción ferroviaria en la ciudad. Si el siglo XIX abraza al ferrocarril como sinónimo de progreso, el urbanismo segregará las infraestructuras para liberar a la ciudad de un obstáculo. Recientemente, la reconversión de áreas ferroviarias por su valor cultural e histórico, vuelve a revelar cómo estas prácticas resuelven en idiomas diversos el diálogo histórico entre infraestructura y ciudad.ENG: Recent theories add local color in the appropriation of ideas about the city. For this reason, it is possible to confirm that Argentine Urbanism was made of successive transformations, forming an autonomous discipline around 1910. Since then, it has become a homogeneous tradition, despite the different names under which it was known in the twentieth century. Those denominations express legal forms of a discipline which has been nourished by the knowledge of many sciences. However, history changes establish epistemological breaks, proof of that is the way railway was incorporated into the city. If the nineteenth century embraces railway as a synonym of progress, urbanism will segregate infrastructures in order to free the city from a clear obstacle. Due to its cultural and historical value, railway reconversion has recently revealed again how these practices resolve the history dialogue between infrastructure and the city, in different languages.Peer Reviewe
