Purpose of the work: development and investigation of a diagnostical program copmplex for shaft and blast furnaces on the basis of a direct measurement of the column structure of sharge materials and their porosity in the shafts of blast furnaces and a combination solution of equations of the heat and mass transfer in the counter-current flow. The work proposes a method of the combination solution of equations of the heat and mass transfer in an open nonequilibrium reaction heterogeneous gas - solid and gas - gas systems and a method of distribution of thermal effects in heterogeneous reactions in open non-equilibirium reaction systems between the solid and gas phases. Developed are a mathematical support and software for a diagnostical program-measuring complex for blast and shaft metallizing furnaces including the software for probe scanning systems, as well as a method of identification of the mass transfer mathematical model by reference to the value of chemical reaction thermal effects. The probe scanning system for determining the structure of thee charge material column is introduced in the production process. Effectiveness of introduction: improvement of the technical and economic characteristics of processes in shaft metallizing furnaces and blast furnaces owing to the availability of information on the course of the processes.
