MECHANISMS DETERMINING PROPAGATION OF FATIGUE CRACKS IN BLADES OF GAS-TURBINE ENGINE

Abstract

A new approach to the analysis of the processes of propagation of fatigue cracks in the blades of aircraft gas-turbine engines has been suggested and realized. The approach considers the peculiar features of the structure of the blades and their production process, operating conditions. Based on this approach a systematic theoretical and experimental investigation of the mechanism leading to the propagation of cracks in the blades have been made for the first time.
