THE PECULIARITIES OF THE PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY OF THE HIGH-QUALITY MILLING BALLS MADE OF IRON

Abstract

The peculiarities of the iron crystallization process with the cast in a metal mould have been studied, the physico-mechanical properties of the white unalloyed iron, depending on its microstructure have been determined. In has been established, that the difference of the iron properties depending on crystals axes may reach 25 to 30%. On the base of the mathematical matrix of planning, the nomograms and graphs for the determination of the optimum composition of the unalloyed iron have been built with the manufacture of the balls, dia. 30 to 100 mm, using the method of cast in a metal mould. The new technological process of the industrial production of the milling balls has been developed. The technology has been introduced in the Sukremlsky Iron-Cast Plant, Kaluzhsky Region, Ludinovo town.
