NON-STATIONARY SPECTROSCOPY AND STRUCTURE OF EXCITED STATES FOR PHOTOTROPIC CENTERS IN RARE-EARTH GARNETS

Abstract

Monocrystals of rare-earth garnets, containing admixtures of chromium or vanadium and co-activators - admixtures of calcuim and magnesium, are investigated in the paper aiming at the obtaining of additional information about the electron structure of phototropic centers, the holding of theoretical analysis for particular features of the electron structure and the attempt of the refining of a model of phototropic centers. As a result it has been shown, that absorption anisotropy, particular features of polarization lumenescence and structure of excited states of ions with 3d-configuration in crystals are the consequence of the distortion of tetrahedral fields. The relaxation mechanism has been developed. The turn effect, a plane of the laser beam polarization have been detected. The method for the obtaining of monocrystals of yttrium aluminium garnet has been developed. The method has been used for the manufacture of passive laser seals for the near IR-range. The results of the investigation may be used for the design of the new laser engineering. The paper results may find their field of application in solid-state physics, instrument makingAvailable from VNTIC / VNTIC - Scientific & Technical Information Centre of RussiaSIGLERURussian Federatio
