The results of the present study confirm the reliability and the validity of the BAI (Brief Assessment Interviews). In agreement with comparable studies in Milan, London and Sydney our study showed for the demence as well as the depression scale an agreement to a high extent. It turned out, that the German version of the Brief Assessment Interviews is an acceptable and economic procedure for the reliable registration of cognitive impairments on elderly people.
