Abstract

The report describes a model for the multidimensional calculation and visualisation of formation processes concerning particulate matter and nitrogen oxides during heavy fuel oil combustion in four-stroke as well as in large bore two-stroke Marine Diesel engines. The calculated results of the program have been compared with measurements carried out on a four-stroke engine to verify the model.
