This thesis focuses on the effects which cultural diversity has on teams in the police organisation. Cultural diversity is becoming part of the very fabric of society and therefore it is important that police teams are able to deal with cultural diversity in a professional way. Firstly the effect of cultural diversity on organisations was examined, focusing on the effect which cultural diversity has on creativity, decision making, and (task) conflict. Furthermore I've examined the effect which diversity beliefs have on work satisfaction. Diversity beliefs are beliefs about whether or not cultural diversity benefits an organisation. Secondly I examined whether or not a cultural diversity training, developed specifically for police officers, had a positive influence on the diversity beliefs of the participants
