Zes benaderingen van lexicale veranderingen

Abstract

SUMMARY This chapter deals with changes in the Italian lexicon in the last fifty years and the ways in which we can study them. The proposed models are the cumulative model (attention to new words), the substitutive model (words that disappeared and their substitution), the variational model (regional, social and international variation as a source of innovation), the statistical model (changes in the basic lexicon), the special language model (interaction between special languages and the general language) and the systematic model (attention for new lexical schema’s and new word formation procedures). Analyses are given of the expressions vu’ comprà, avviso di garanzia, colf and limonare; furthermore Sanguineti’s poem Laudes rerum universarum is studied as an illustration of new word formation procedures
