Oenach indiu luid in rí: An edition of the three known versions of 'Today the king went to a fair' or Finn and the phantoms: with translation and textual notes

Abstract

In the first part of my thesis I discuss the three known versions of the poem 'Oenach indiu luid in rí',also known as 'Finn and the phantoms', and I discuss their relationship with the prose version 'Echtra Finn' and the prose and verse versions in the 'Agallamh na senórach'. I also show that there are four previously unknown versions of this poem.\ud In the second part of my thesis I provide an edition with translation and textual notes of the three known versions of the poem 'Oenach indiu luid in rí'
