Managerial Theory of the Development of Farm : From Theories of Scale, Intensity and Farm Growth Accounting to Farm Development Theoris

Abstract

Farm management research in Japan has emphasized, on the one hand, the development from static analysis to dynamic analysis, and on the other hand, establishment of farm management theory as an empirical science. These two topics are theoretically interrelated, and there are many problems to be solved in these aspects. In this paper, in order to establish the dynamic method of approach and framework for farm development which contains farm growth as its main aspect, the following points are discussed. (1) Major concepts and aspects relating to farm development, (2) The meanings of various aspects and their innovation in the farm development and investigation of their interactions, (3) The investigation of dynamic characteristics and mechanism in the process of farm development, (4) Identification and meanings of the farm development theory in the farm management research
