Field use of 32P tracer to measure phosphate uptake by birch mycorrhizas

By J. Dighton, P. A. Mason and A. F. Harrison

Abstract

32P was used as a tracer to determine phosphorus uptake by different mycorrhizas of birch in the field. Time of year and location of the application of 32P were the dominant variables, although there is evidence of differential uptake by the three fungai, which change with season.\u
