Shot noise in mesoscopic conductors with electron-phonon scattering

Abstract

An analytical expression for the quantum shot noise spectrum in small conductors in the presence of electron-optical-phonon interaction is obtained. It is indicated that at zero temperature, the low frequency noise S0 has a singularity at eV = ε{lunate}, where V is the applied dc voltage and ε{lunate} is the energy of the optical phonon. Furthermore, in addition to the dc voltage, when an ac bias is applied, the singularity at eV = ε{lunate} will shift to eV = nh {combining short solidus overlay}Ω, |ε{lunate}±nh {combining short solidus overlay}Ω|, where Ω is the frequency of the ac bias and n is an arbitrary integer. © 1995.link_to_subscribed_fulltex
