FLORA FANEROGÁMICA DE LA ZONA ARQUEOLÓGICA DE TEOTIHUACÁN, ESTADO DE MÉXICO

Abstract

The archaeological zone of Teotihuacán,located in Estado de Mexico comprises anarea of 200 hectares of prehispanicbuildings. In this area they were foundseven sites inhabited for a total of 250species related with phanerogamic flora.In each one of these sites was founddifferent amount of species: I. Inbuildings that had not been restored(211 spp.); II. Buildings restored with aconstant process of maintenance (75spp.); III. Buildings restored with a yearwithout maintenance (63 spp.); IV.Buildings restored with ten yearswithout maintenance (99 spp.); V.Buildings with masonry and groundtepetate (99 spp.); VI. Tezontle pebblegrabble in floors and corridors (60spp.); and VII. in antique rubbish thatappeared as a result of the restorationof the east front of the Pyramid of theSun that presented 39 species.Taking into account the distribution ofthe species on the seven sites, we mayclassified them in families and species,obtaining the result of the same fourfloristicgroups. At first, group numberone (I) presented 48 families; groupnumber two (II, III), 29; number three (IV,V), 34 and the group number four (VI;VII), formed by 27 families. In the second,group number one (I) presented 211species; number two (II, III), 79 spp.;number three (IV, V) , 130 spp. and thegroup number four (VI, VII), was formedby 80 species.T h e f a m i l i e s t h a t w e r e b e s trepresented for their abundance ofspecies were Compositae (47 spp.),Gramineae (30 spp.), and Leguminosaewith 18 species.From the 250 species founded, 244 wereincluded in the Mexican ValleyPhanerogamic Flora, and six of thesespecies were added to the registers ofknown vegetation of the archaelogicalzone of Teotihuacan, this is the contributionof the present study: Calyptocarpusvialis Less, Fuirena simplex Vahl.,Heliotropium angiospermum Murrayy Opunta davissi Engelmann etBigelow, and Waltheria indica L.La zona arqueológica de Teotihuacán,Estado de México, comprende unasuperficie de 200 hectáreas deconstrucciones prehispánicas. En el árease encontraron siete sitios habitados conun total de 250 especies relacionadas conla flora fanerogámica. En cada uno de éstosestuvieron presentes diferentes cantidadesde especies: I. Monumentos norestaurados (211 spp.), II. Monumentosrestaurados con mantenimiento constante(75 spp.), III. Monumentos restaurados conun año sin mantenimiento (63 spp.), IV.Monumentos restaurados con 10 años sinmantenimiento (99 spp.), V. Mamposteadocon tepetate molido (99 spp.), VI. Gravillade tezontle de pisos y andadores (60 spp.)y VII. Escombros antiguos procedentes dela restauración de la fachada oriente de laPirámide de Sol presentaron 39 especies.Con base en la distribución de especiesen los siete sitios, nos permitió clasificarpor familias y especies obteniendo elmismo resultado de cuatro gruposflorísticos. En el primero, el grupo (I)presentó 48 familias, el dos (II, III), 29, eltres (IV, V), 34 y el cuarto (VI, VII),formado por 27 familias. En el segundo,el grupo uno (I), tiene 211 especies, eldos (II, III), 79 spp., el tres (IV, V),130 spp. Y el cuarto (VI, VII), agrupó a80 especies.Las familias mejor representadas en cuantoa la abundancia de especies fueron:Compositae (47 spp.), Gramineae (30 spp.)y Leguminosae con 18 especies.De las 250 especies encontradas, 244 estánincluidas en la Flora Fanerogámica del Vallede México, y seis especies de la zonaarqueológica de Teotihuacán son nuevosregistros que se agregan a esta vegetacióncomo una aportación del presente estudio:Calyptocarpus vialis Less, Fuirena simplexVahl., Heliotropium angiospermum Murray,Laxonthysanus sinuatus (Lem.)
