Abstract

O presente trabalho examina comparativamente os pressupostos e as ênfases de quatro gerações de agendas políticas educacionais dirigidas à educação básica, com início na década de 1970 e influência na realidade educacional brasileira atual. Discute suas potencialidades e limitações em face do desafio da qualidade. Considera novos temas que podem oferecer novas oportunidades para políticas educacionais.<br>This paper compares the assumptions and emphases of four generations of policies for primary and secondary education in Brazil, from 1971 to date. It discusses their potentialities and limitations and considers new themes that may offer new approaches to the enduring problem of the low quality of Brazilian education
