Analytic Results from Shell Models of Turbulence

Abstract

Shell models of turbulence are simpler to deal with analytically and numerically than the full Navier-Stokes equations. In this work, we look the continuum limit of the DN and GOY shell models and reproduce results from Kolmogorov theory for the stationary case.
