A Conceptual System to Situate Ubiquitous Computing

Abstract

This paper investigates situating of ubiquitous computing within our current everyday environments. We describe how tying information to actual physical locations can improve the usefulness of ubiquitous computing environments and promote the use of ubiquitous computing services. It is envisioned that these environments will emerge as a social framework for information distribution, and that this form of interaction will maintain user privacy, provide a new mechanism for social interaction and situate pervasive computing environments in community supportive roles
