Abstract

An explicit formula of reduced membrane energy for incompressible p-Dirichlet energy. (English summary) Appl. Anal. 88 (2009), no. 9, 1321–1327. The author derives an explicit formula for the limit energy density of an incompressible elastic thin film, modeled through the nonconvex p-Dirichlet energy (p ≥ 2) of its deformation, i.e. the Γ-limit as ε → 0 of Eε(v) = |∇v(z) | p dz, ω×(0,ε) with det ∇v(z) = 1 on ω × (0, ε), is explicitly computed. In particular, it is shown that the membrane energy density obtained by performing the Γ-limit, and applying the results in [S. Conti and G.
