Abstract

The authors of the paper under review are concerned with establishing identities for the multiple zeta (star) values. More precisely, they establish formulas for expressing ζ ∗ (s) = ζ ∗ (s1,..., sn) = where s1,..., sn ∈ {1, 2,...}, s1 ≥ 2, in terms of ζ(s) = ζ(s1,..., sn) = a1≥···≥an≥1 a1>···>an≥1 a −s1 1 · · · a −sn n, a −s1 1 · · · a −sn n, and vice versa. The main results of the paper under review are the following identities: 1. For any n ≥ 1 and 1 ≤ i ≤ n, ζ ∗ (2,..., 2, 1, 2,..., 2, 1) = 4ζ i n−i ∗ (2i + 1, 2n − 2i + 1) − 2ζ(2n + 2). 2. For any n ≥ 3, ζ ∗ (2, 1,..., 1) = n−
