Abstract

(2001), no. 4, 774–776. The best result of this type before the present work showed that at least one of the numbers ζ(5), ζ(7),..., ζ(21) is irrational [T. Rivoal, “Propriétés diophantiennes des valeurs de la fonction zêta de Riemann aux entiers impairs”, thèse de doctorat, Univ. Caen, Caen, 2001; per bibl.; V. V. Zudilin, Uspekhi Mat. Nauk 56 (2001), no. 2(338), 215–216 MR1859714 (2002k:11123)]. The improvement in the title of this paper comes from Rivoal’s construction based on linear forms in the values of the zeta function, with more optimisation to estimate the size and denominator of the linear forms
